What is Stereolithography (SLA)?

SLA printing is an additive manufacturing technology used to produce detailed models, prototypes, patterns, and production parts one layer at a time by curing a photo-reactive resin with a UV laser or another similar power source. This type of printing method offers high throughput, build sizes up to 1,524 mm, unmatched part resolution and accuracy, and a wide range of print materials. SLA Printers are often used for rapid manufacturing where form, fit, and assembly are critical.

Detailed print resolution

The ProJet 6000 and 7000 prints at a resolution equivalent to 4000 dpi, with more consistent mechanical properties in all three axes than other print technologies. Both systems are available in three models — SD, HD and MP — and have a net build volume as high as 380 x 380 x 250 mm (15 x 15 x 10 in).

The ProJet 6000 and 7000 printers use a wide range of VisiJet SL engineered materials that exceed traditional plastic properties, including resistance to high temperature, tensile strength, and impact strength
